Glorious, amazing nature

We have been under siege by plague locusts - a peculiarity of this wide brown, wet, green land downunder.  It is the landowner's responsibility to spray - so we've invested in some seriously expensive biological product - but when one's neighbours won't admit they have a problem, then it doesn't matter how much you spend or spray.

These gorgeous little eggplants have so far escaped the depredations of locusts - unlike the beans, tomatoes, potatoes, blueberries, strawberries, lavender ....

Wasps are making their nests around the house. There have been an amazing variety seen this year - from HUGE black creatures to paper wasps, European wasps (to be avoided at all cost).  This nest is high up under the laserlite on the back verandah - it is secured to the timber by a tiny "bridge" which is about 3mm long.  Truly glorious, amazing nature.
